Community Led Local Development (CLLD)
Cornwall Development Company is currently recruiting to deliver CLLD, an ERDF/ESF funded programme that will deliver investment to the most deprived areas of Cornwall.
CLLD is about local people getting involved to take the lead on activity that provides sustainable economic benefits in areas of Cornwall that have some real problems such as social exclusion or very low levels of employment. The projects that will be supported will create jobs, develop skills and achieve sustainable economic growth. We are currently working with over 100 projects to make a change in our core neighbourhoods. We work with businesses and community groups, charities and sole traders to develop projects across Cornwall, supported by our Local Action Groups who make the decisions.
It is a new and different way of investing in local areas that uses two European Funding streams, plus a range of financial support from Cornwall Council to bring new ideas and solutions to on-going problems.
CLLD Area Coordinator (West Cornwall and Coast to Coast)
Starting salary £31,800
Based in Pool, Redruth
Fixed-term contract to 30 June 2022
The Area Coordinator will promote and coordinate activity leading to the delivery of the Local Development Strategy in two of the four CLLD areas. This post will oversee the ‘West Cornwall’ and ‘Coast to Coast’ areas. The post holder will work with the two relevant Local Action Groups to deliver local growth, prosperity and development in their areas.
As well as line managing two of our facilitators this role will include engagement with businesses and communities to help them develop and bring forward projects that are eligible for CLLD ERDF and/or ESF funding. You will need to have an eye for detail but also be able to see the bigger picture; bring creativity and ideas as well as managing systems and processes.
Although you will have an office base in Pool, you are likely to be working across your areas to develop projects and support both staff and LAG members. This is an exciting role in an exciting project.
