The Cornwall Development Company has announced the launch of the Cornwall Business Awards 2016, the most prestigious business awards in the county.
“This will be the 11th year of these awards, which have now become established as the perfect way to highlight the stars of the Cornwall business community. Each year that we stage these awards we see the quality of the entries getting higher and higher, which is a testament to the growing strength of our local economy”, says Arthur Hooper, Group Managing Director, Cornwall Development Company.
Any business based in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly can enter one or more of fourteen award categories, which include Best New Business and Best Family Business. There are two new award categories this year – Manufacturer of the Year and Sustainable Business of the Year.
Around 300 business leaders are expected to attend the glittering awards dinner at St Mellion International on 12th May 2016, one of the most important events in the Cornwall business calendar.
Kim Conchie of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, who are sponsoring the ‘Winner of Winners’ award says: “Over the years, these awards have been hugely valuable for the way in which they have promoted business excellence and achievement across Cornwall. It is vital that our local businesses keep innovating and raising their game, to enable Cornwall to compete effectively on the national and global stage.”
Kim adds: “Many of the winners of last year’s awards were small and medium sized businesses which had entered for the first time. We would urge businesses which have never before considered entering the Cornwall Business Awards to do so this year.”
Entries for the Cornwall Business Awards 2016 should be made online and the closing date for entries is March 13th.
