BEIS Project Co-Ordinator

Starting salary £41,717 per annum

37 Hours per week

Fixed term contract to 31 March 2022

Working flexibly from home with office days in Pool, Redruth.

The BEIS Project Co-Ordinator will work with the Hub Management Team to manage, develop and drive a high-quality, client-led service across the BEIS Project Team to meet and exceed agreed performance targets.

Elements of the role will include:

  • Using smart tools (such as the Beauhurst database) to develop an outbound and targeted client contact strategy
  • Seeking operational efficiencies and innovative approaches in the project to create capacity for delivery of the service as required to match demand and exceed targets
  • Managing all areas of the delivery of BEIS Funded Peer Networks Project and delivery subcontractors
  • Carrying out compliant procurement and contract management as required for delivery of the project
  • Ensuring the team has a culture of ‘added value’ to the client through expert knowledge and customer service excellence
  • Managing, monitoring and auditing performance of team to ensure project outputs are delivered and to balance meeting targets with a compliant and quality client-led service
  • Reporting on performance as necessary, fully understanding the reporting processes to funders, stakeholders etc in line with audit and GDPR requirements
  • Delivering excellent customer satisfaction and taking corrective action where appropriate
  • Ensuring workstream team knowledge is up to date in relation to providing information to businesses to help them grow

Business Connector (Non-ESIF)

Starting salary £32,601 per annum

Working flexibly from home with office days in Pool, Redruth

The Business Connector (Non-ESIF) will be the initial point of phone or email contact for businesses accessing the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, triaging or where appropriate undertaking diagnostic analysis and making appropriate referrals to the range of business support providers.

Other elements of the role will include:

  • taking a proactive approach to develop relationships with partners in key sectors
  • developing and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the range of potential local and national business support offerings available to businesses, enabling appropriate referrals can be made
  • co-ordinating business support interventions with clients and monitoring their growth journey over an extended period of time
  • tracking enquiries to the Growth Hub from businesses and evaluating/reporting on those enquiries

Cornwall Development Company is currently recruiting for a Skills Connector to join the team in delivering Phase 2 of the European Social Fund-funded CIOS Skills Hub. Working on a one-to-one basis, our free, independent and impartial skills experts get beneath the skin of businesses, uncovering the skills they need now and in future, and introducing them to tailored training opportunities that produce real results.

If you can help employers identify their skills gaps and opportunities for increased productivity, and you have the knowledge to point them in the direction of the right, cost-effective training, then we would love to hear from you.

Skills Connector

Our Skills Connectors are be the principal point of contact for employers accessing the Skills Access Hub, undertaking training needs analyses (TNAs) and making appropriate referrals to a range of local and national skills initiatives and training providers. They also:

•  Develop and maintain comprehensive relationships with employer sectors and their representatives.

  • Support the development of emerging sectors and promote the collaboration and networking of employers

•  Co-ordinate skills interventions with employers and to support the monitoring of their development/growth journey over an extended period of time

•  Represent the Skills Hub at events, seminars and workshops in order to raise awareness of its objectives.

Lizard Pathways – Restart Scheme

Lizard Pathways is recruiting a team to deliver the exciting new Restart Scheme commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Working under the prime contractor, Seetec/Pluss, Lizard Pathways have been selected to cover the far South West of the County, encompassing Penzance and Helston with its surrounding areas as covered by the respective Job Centres.  Seetec/Pluss and their delivery partners, will complement the vital work of Jobcentre Plus with extra expertise, investment, innovation and additional capacity for intensive support.

Through regular contact with all participants, providers will develop a strong understanding of individuals’ employment history, skills, aspirations and support needs to develop the right package of support to help each participant succeed.

This year Lizard Pathways are celebrating their 20th year in supporting individuals’ progression into sustainable employment. We aspire to enhance our client’s aspirations, skills and employability and our service continues to be recognised as a core activity contributing towards the economic well-being of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The expertise within the team provides information, advice and guidance on career choices and options, training and education, employability skills such as CV writing, completing application forms, job searches and interview techniques, together with signposting to a range of specialist support agencies and alternative providers.

Employment Adviser

Starting salary £25,100 per annum

Based in Pool, Redruth (currently working remotely due to the pandemic)

We are seeking an Employment Adviser to deliver employment and skills support to a wide range of unemployed people within our community. We welcome applications from motivated candidates who can demonstrate the personal skills needed to encourage and support our participants to achieve their aspirations and goals.

Previous experience within the welfare to work sector is welcomed, however we do encourage applicants with strong transferrable skills from any sector or background to consider this role.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate working in a target-driven environment to progressively manage a caseload of participants using a variety of appropriate strategies to help them overcome barriers to gaining employment.

Please note that all roles within the Restart project currently remain subject to the signing of the funding contract.
