Cornwall Development Company is looking to appoint a highly motivated and qualified accountant to the role of Central Finance, Claims & Audit Manager to play a key role in enabling the Company to deliver its economic development aspirations and make a real difference to Cornwall, the lives of its residents and its businesses.

Central Finance, Claims & Audit Manager

Starting salary £41,717 per annum

Permanent contract

37 Hours per week

Working flexibly from home with office days in Pool, Redruth.

The Central Finance, Claims and Audit Manager is a pivotal role that will work closely with the experienced senior management team.

Elements of the role will include:

  • Production of operating budgets for the CDC 4-year business plan
  • Production of annual statutory accounts
  • Oversight of production of monthly management accounting, reporting and forecasting
  • Oversight of grant claiming and reporting functions
  • Ensuring systems and controls are fit for purpose
  • Line management of Central Finance, Claims & Audit team

Lizard Pathways- Restart Scheme

Lizard Pathways is a Matrix accredited Information, Advice and Guidance Service specialising in employability support, whilst encouraging the health and wellbeing of all participants as well as our own staff.

We are expanding the quality services we provide throughout West Cornwall at a rapid pace in order to support hundreds of people every year to retrain for new employment. We are seeking an Employment Advisor to deliver employment and skills support to a wide range of unemployed people within our community. Previous experience within the welfare to work sector is welcomed, however we encourage applicants who have strong transferrable skills in supporting others from any sector to consider this role.

Health Works for Cornwall

Cornwall Development Company is recruiting for the Health Works for Cornwall employment support programme, which aims to support 5,500 workless individuals across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with health-related barriers to gaining employment.

Part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), with investment from Cornwall Council and using a supply chain of delivery partners, the project is delivering training and support to help remove these barriers and to progress individuals into work.

As the project lead, Cornwall Development Company is recruiting a Claims and Compliance Co-ordinator to deliver a quality and compliant service that achieves the programme’s targets.

The Claims and Compliance Co-ordinator is a key role within the Health Works for Cornwall team that helps to ensure we submits accurate and timely financial claims and we are compliant with our contractual and European Social Fund obligations.

We are seeking a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills, an eye for detail, who can accurately collate information and interpret data to support the management and delivery of the project.

Supporting our Finance and Compliance Manager, the post will involve regular contact with our team and delivery partners in order to communicate guidance, answer queries, provide important updates, monitor finance and compliance, and verify that the evidence provided is correct.

The Cornwall Trade & Investment (CTI) project has three main objectives: helping businesses from elsewhere in the UK and abroad to get established in Cornwall; encouraging Cornwall businesses to export their goods and services outside the region; and increasing the number of jobs in Cornwall through our support to businesses.

We’re looking for a confident and business minded Trade & Investment Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an ambitious project promoting Cornwall as the place to do business.

The Trade & Investment Manager plays a vital part in achieving these objectives, acting as the key point of contact with the businesses and providing excellent client management services.

As Trade & Investment Manager, you’ll promote Cornwall & IoS as a business destination of choice to potential SME inward investors and foreign direct investors wishing to exploit UK, European and international markets. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of business growth, development and expansion enablers across UK and international markets, particularly within digital and advanced manufacturing and engineering industries.

Responsible for generating high-quality, intelligence-based business leads, you’ll define target companies and design bespoke engagement strategies.

Building strong relationships is an important part of this role, whether with potential or existing investors, Cornwall business ambassadors, or other support providers. We’re looking for someone that can proactively respond to leads, take responsibility for customer and account management, and deliver against targets defined in the ERDF support service, leading to businesses successfully locating in the region.

Our Trade & Investment Manager will support Cornwall businesses in the development of export markets through an active trade delegation programme allied to Cornwall Trade & Investment (CTI) national and international events programme.

Cornwall Development Company is currently recruiting for a Skills Connector to join the team in delivering Phase 2 of the European Social Fund-funded CIOS Skills Hub. Working on a one-to-one basis, our free, independent and impartial skills experts get beneath the skin of businesses, uncovering the skills they need now and in future, and introducing them to tailored training opportunities that produce real results.

If you can help employers identify their skills gaps and opportunities for increased productivity, and you have the knowledge to point them in the direction of the right, cost-effective training, then we would love to hear from you.

Our Skills Connectors are be the principal point of contact for employers accessing the Skills Access Hub, undertaking training needs analyses (TNAs) and making appropriate referrals to a range of local and national skills initiatives and training providers. They also:

•  Develop and maintain comprehensive relationships with employer sectors and their representatives.

  • Support the development of emerging sectors and promote the collaboration and networking of employers

•  Co-ordinate skills interventions with employers and to support the monitoring of their development/growth journey over an extended period of time

•  Represent the Skills Hub at events, seminars and workshops in order to raise awareness of its objectives.

Cornwall & Isles of Scilly People Hub

Cornwall Development Company (CDC) is recruiting for an exciting new service, which will build on our existing Cornwall and Isles of Scilly People Hub.

As a result of new investment from the European Social Fund and Cornwall Council, CDC will be expanding the support we provide to eligible residents in the county who are in work and/or at risk of redundancy.

Our goal is to support over 850 eligible individuals in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly up to December 2023. As the project lead, Cornwall Development Company is recruiting a team to deliver a quality and compliant service that achieves the project’s targets and which will coordinate effectively with our existing service, which is already supporting those who are unemployed.

Using a training framework of accredited providers to deliver direct training and linking to existing provision available in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the project will support eligible residents by identifying needs and connecting them to the right services, thereby contributing to an increase in the skills levels within the county.

Administration and Events Officer

Starting £19,233

Based in Pool, Redruth

We are recruiting an Administration and Events Officer to support the marketing and promotion of the People Hub. You’ll play a central role in helping our Partnership Manager to ensure successful engagement of the service by eligible participants.

You’ll have great communication skills, be happy talking to and meeting different people and acting as an advocate for the project.

Day to day, you’ll support the financial, organisational, and administrative elements to help the People Hub Partnership Manager and the rest of the People Hub Team; setting up efficient and effective administrative systems to support the project and to make the most of promotional events.  You’ll also be recording management data and information about promotional and marketing activities and helping assess the outcomes of the strategies, events and campaigns.
