Cornwall Trade & Investment

Cornwall Trade & Investment (CTI) is an ERDF-funded project with three main objectives: helping businesses from abroad to get established in Cornwall; encouraging Cornwall businesses to export their goods and services outside the region; and increasing the number of jobs in Cornwall through our support to businesses.

CTI Compliance Manager

Starting salary £24,484.19 per annum (pro rata)

29.6 hours per week (0.8FTE)

Fixed-term to 30 September 2021, with a possibility of extending to 30 June 2023 subject to funding approval

We’re looking for a confident and highly organised Compliance Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an ambitious project promoting Cornwall as the place to do business.

The Compliance Manager plays a vital part in achieving our objectives, acting as the key point of contact within the team and owning the compliance and administrative processes.

The role

As Compliance Manager you’ll be responsible for all initial potential investor and export support recipient enquiries on behalf of Cornwall Trade & Investment – developing a highly credible knowledge of the project and wider investment / trade issues to enable an efficient service for all clients.

Attention to detail is key – you will be accountable for the design and implementation of processes and procedures and assisting the Director of Trade and Investment with monthly reporting. You will also have full responsibility for maintaining impeccable client records in line with ERDF requirements and will lead on the continued development and management of the project’s client relationship management system.   

Due to COVID-19 the role is temporarily remote with the expectation of working from our offices in Pool, Redruth, in the near future.

Trade & Investment Manager (Non-ERDF)

37 hours per week
Fixed-term contract running until September 2023
Based at our offices in Pool, Redruth but predominately remote working
Starting salary of £35,615 per annum

We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded Trade & Investment Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an ambitious project promoting Cornwall as the place to do business.

The Trade & Investment Manager plays a vital part in achieving these objectives, acting as the key point of contact with the businesses and providing excellent client management services.

The role

As Trade & Investment Manager, you’ll work with UK businesses to establish a presence in the region, promoting all that Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly have to offer them. Likewise, you’ll provide assistance to Cornwall businesses to increase their national and international trade opportunities.

A key contact for businesses engaged with the project, you’ll have an extensive understanding of business growth, economic development and expansion enablers across UK and international markets, particularly within digital and advanced manufacturing and engineering industries. Responsible for generating high-quality, intelligence-based business leads, you’ll define target companies and design bespoke engagement strategies.

Building strong relationships is an important part of this role, whether with potential or existing investors, Cornwall business ambassadors, or other support providers. We’re looking for someone that can proactively respond to leads, while taking responsibility for customer and account management to maximise conversion.

A confident communicator, you’ll also represent Cornwall at exhibitions, seminars and conferences. Working with the wider team and other sector-specific projects, you’ll play a key role in defining our programme of exhibitions and events – including the forthcoming G7 Summit in Cornwall.
