Lizard Pathways – Restart Scheme

Lizard Pathways is recruiting a team to deliver the exciting new Restart Scheme commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Working under the prime contractor, Seetec/Pluss, Lizard Pathways have been selected to cover the far South West of the County, encompassing Penzance and Helston with its surrounding areas as covered by the respective Job Centres.  Seetec/Pluss and their delivery partners, will complement the vital work of Jobcentre Plus with extra expertise, investment, innovation and additional capacity for intensive support.

Through regular contact with all participants, providers will develop a strong understanding of individuals’ employment history, skills, aspirations and support needs to develop the right package of support to help each participant succeed.

This year Lizard Pathways are celebrating their 20th year in supporting individuals’ progression into sustainable employment. We aspire to enhance our client’s aspirations, skills and employability and our service continues to be recognised as a core activity contributing towards the economic well-being of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The expertise within the team provides information, advice and guidance on career choices and options, training and education, employability skills such as CV writing, completing application forms, job searches and interview techniques, together with signposting to a range of specialist support agencies and alternative providers.

Team Leader

Starting salary £36,512 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to be an exemplar leader of a team of Employment Advisers, applying a range of management skills to optimise positive impact on the participants of the Restart scheme.  As part of Lizard Pathways, the Restart scheme will address barriers to gaining new employment with tailored support for each participant to achieve and sustain good work, including supported job searches, re-training for different sectors and restoring self-confidence for work.

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator at all levels of an organisation with demonstratable relevant skills and a proactive approach to establishing strong partnerships both internally and externally.

Employer Account Manager

Starting salary £28,685 per annum

This is an employer-facing role specifically targeting local employers, requiring engagement to understand their recruitment needs and to co-design a routeway into employment for Restart participants.

The role will leverage strong relationships in order to promote inclusive employment practices, such as Disability Confident, work trials and working interviews, with a primary focus on meeting employer expectations.

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator at all levels of an organisation with demonstrable skills of networking with a wide range of employers in an account management capacity. The Employment Account Manager will have a proactive approach to establishing partnerships both internally and externally with experience of working in a target-driven environment.

Employment Adviser

We are seeking an Employment Adviser to deliver employment and skills support to a wide range of unemployed people within our community. We welcome applications from motivated candidates who can demonstrate the personal skills needed to encourage and support our participants to achieve their aspirations and goals.

Previous experience within the welfare to work sector is welcomed, however we do encourage applicants with strong transferrable skills from any sector or background to consider this role.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate working in a target-driven environment to progressively manage a caseload of participants using a variety of appropriate strategies to help them overcome barriers to gaining employment.

Employability Trainer

Starting salary £25,100 per annum

We are seeking an Employability Trainer whowill be responsible for the delivery of tailored employability skills training to those participants requiring specialist support to help them secure new employment. The postholder will support and inspire our participants to restore their self-confidence and to refresh their skills, equipping them with ‘Employability Skills for Life’.

The Employability Trainer will need to demonstrate experience in delivering training at varying levels with both creativity and compassion, developing innovative training solutions to overcome individual barriers to social inclusion and employment.

Engagement Coach

Starting salary £22,167 per annum

37 hours per week

Fixed-term to 30 November 2024

Based in Pool, Redruth (currently working remotely due to the pandemic)

The Restart Engagement Coach will be a support to participants during their Restart journey. This will involve providing encouragement and positive reinforcement about the programme and to support engagement with the range of appropriate services and activities available to each participant. Priorities will include providing 1-2-1 and Group support for online job searches, facilitating introductions to specialist support services and generally providing a high-level of customer service during attendance at the ‘delivery centre’.

Being the first point of contact for all new participants, the Engagement Coach is an integral part of the Restart team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating ‘warm handovers’ with the Seetec/Pluss Call Centre, JCP Advisers and of course with the participants themselves.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role, including the ability to confidently engage with participants in a range of ways, including face-to-face and digitally.

Superfast Cornwall – Inclusive Growth

Cornwall Development Company is recruiting for the ‘Superfast 3 – Inclusive Growth’ project which aims to work with businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to make best use of digital technologies.

Part-funded by the European Region Development Fund (ERDF), the project will include targeting businesses that may have been slower to adopt digital technologies, providing business consultancy and grants to assist investment in digital solutions.

Project Officer            

Starting salary £28,685 per annum

Fixed-term to 31 May 2023

Homebased with office days in Pool, Redruth

We are seeking a Project Officer to support our European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant funded scheme, delivering investment in digital solutions to SMEs, particularly targeting the SMEs that may have been slower to adopt the benefits of digital solutions.

The post-holder will be a team player with a can-do attitude and a strong attention to detail, and will:

  • Be working directly with and supporting SMEs through the detailed application, implementation and claims process
  • Undertake marketing tasks, getting more SMEs connected to superfast broadband, and driving demand to the Business Digital Grants and Broadband Grants workstreams
  • To support the Superfast Cornwall team in other workstream activity, including Broadband Grants and Business Digital Support

We are seeking an Administrator to support our European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant funded scheme, delivering investment in digital solutions to SMEs, particularly targeting the SMEs that may have been slower to adopt the benefits of digital solutions.

The post-holder will be a team player with a can-do attitude and a strong attention to detail, and will:

  • provide proactive and effective administrative, compliance and budgetary support to the Superfast Cornwall team, and close working with other teams in CDC
  • Manage Health & Safety and administrative procedures ensuring adequate allocation of resources and a safe, secure working environment
